    Brief Description

A 42 year-old pre-menopausal woman experienced excessive bleeding during menses and dysmenorrhea for 9 months. She experienced “severe cramping” with pain radiating to her lower back. She described the pain as “burning and sharp” and explained that during menstruation she was unable to perform her job as a sweeper because of the severe pain. Before onset of symptoms, she described her menstrual flow as less heavy and not as painful. She experienced no pain during urination. Her past medical history and family history are unremarkable. The patient has 3 children, all of whom where delivered by Cesarean Section. She does not plan on having more children.
