| The child received an APGAR score of 9/10 at birth and had her first meconium in the first 24 h after birth. Patient had repeated upper respiratory infections (frequent cough) and diarrhea. In April 2008 she developed rhinitis and bronchitis after which the hernia was first noticed. Currently, patient eats well and the ventral hernia is only visible when she cries or puts her hands above her head.
Patient is the second of two daughters. The mother is pregnant with a third child and is anxious that she might have a third daughter. The father is a day laborer in Vellore. |
