The mission of the Children of the World Anesthesia Foundation is to promote continuing education for pediatric anesthetists through the development and the acquisition of the basic principles of safe practice of anesthesia for our infants and children of the world and future generations.

The Children of the World Anesthesia Foundation was born as the result of Dr. Bissonette's acquired experience traveling around the world, as a teacher sharing and exchanging expertise with colleagues in the operating room and participating in Anesthesia Meetings organized by these different Societies. The purpose of this organization is to help anesthetists already interested in pediatric anesthesia to improve and acquire new knowledge and skills inherent to the safe practice of anesthesia for infants and children.

This course is also intended to improve the teaching abilities of the professional in their own country, subsequently ensuring the development of younger generation of pediatric anesthetists by their professional influence and presence as consultant in pediatric anesthesia.
